77th Independence Day: PM Modi Reiterates 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Campaign; Offers Campaign Certificates

1971 India-Pakistan War: A Lesson in Unified National Effort Beyond Military Might, Says Former Army Chief Gen VN Sharma As India gears up to celebrate its 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign, launched under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, has once again emerged as a focal point of national pride. This campaign, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been designed to instill a sense of patriotism among citizens and encourage them to participate actively in the celebration of India's independence. First introduced by Prime Minister Modi in 2022, the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign is now in its third year, continuing to gain momentum across the country. The initiative calls upon every Indian to hoist the national flag at their homes, symbolizing unity and national pride. This year, the campaign will feature an additional highlight -- a special "Tiranga Bike Rally" scheduled for August 13. Members of Parliament will participate in this rally, which will start from Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan and conclude at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, passing through the iconic India Gate. The rally aims to further amplify the message of the campaign, making it a visible and impactful event.

One of the unique aspects of this year's campaign is the opportunity for citizens to obtain a "Har Ghar Tiranga" certificate. This initiative encourages people to not only hoist the Tricolour at their homes but also to take a selfie with the flag and upload it to the official website, harghartiranga.com. By doing so, participants can secure a certificate that serves as a testament to their involvement in this patriotic movement. Since its inception, the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign has seen overwhelming participation from citizens across the country. In 2022, the campaign's first year, the Tricolour was displayed at over 23 crore homes, and six crore selfies were uploaded to the Har Ghar Tiranga portal. The momentum continued into 2023, with over 10 crore selfies uploaded, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for the initiative.

This year, the campaign remains focused on promoting national pride and emphasizing the importance of the Tricolour as a symbol of India's unity and sovereignty. In the lead-up to Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again called on citizens to show their support for the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign by changing their profile pictures on social media to the Indian Tricolour. On August 9, PM Modi led by example, updating his own profile picture and urging others to follow suit. "As this year's Independence Day approaches, let's once again make #HarGharTiranga a memorable mass movement. I have changed my profile picture, and I urge you all to join me in celebrating our Tricolour by doing the same. And yes, do share your selfies on https://harghartiranga.com," PM Modi said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). For those looking to participate in this year's campaign and obtain their "Har Ghar Tiranga" certificate, the process is simple and accessible: This initiative, along with the entire "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign, serves as a powerful reminder of the collective spirit that binds India together. As the nation prepares to celebrate its 77th Independence Day, the campaign continues to inspire citizens to express their love for the country and honor the legacy of India's freedom struggle.
