Srinagar, June 11: The open to all (above 14 years) Badminton tournament organized by 75 Battalion CRPF concluded Tuesday after a series of enthralling and entertaining matches which lasted over 2 days.

Srinagar, June 11: The open to all (above 14 years) Badminton tournament organized by 75 Battalion CRPF concluded Tuesday after a series of enthralling and entertaining matches which lasted over 2 days. The tournament, which was organized as an outreach initiative under the civic action program of the Battalion, witnessed huge participation from students and youth alike. The tournament was inaugurated on 10/06/2024 by K K Pandey, DIG in the Hari niwas camp. Total 10 teams with 50 players hailing from different parts of Srinagar participated in the tournament. A total of 9 matches were played during the tournament which included 8 league knockout doubles matches and one final. Prashant Dar DIG, Srinagar sector CRPF, was the chief guest of the Closing Ceremony on 11/06/2024. He gave away the winners trophy to Aamil Ahmed and Syed musheer while Muntazir Maqbool and Adil Ahmad bagged the runners-up trophy. Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Guest remarked that participation in sports enables great learning in perseverance, determination, team coordination etc while also building physical stamina and agility. He lauded all the participants for their commitment at playing beautiful game of badminton, adhering to the guidelines of the game and respecting the decisions of the referee. He also congratulated all the trophy winners and urged all to devote some time to games and sports. K K Pandey, DIG informed that in addition to relentless duties performed by its officers and men in the service of the motherland, the Force finds it imperative to reach out to the local populace and engage with the youngsters. The tournament has been organized in the same spirit to enable a conducive environment for sports where the young enthusiasts can positively interact and shuttlers can showcase their skills.
